The Valtournenche valley with the mighty pyramid of the Cervino (Matterhorn), is the most impressive and interesting valley of the Valle d'Aosta. From Chatillon it stretches 27 km northwards and finishes at Breuil-Cervinia at the foot of the Matterhorn. The village of Valtournenche is 9 km before Breuil-Cervinia. Bus service to Chatillon. This is an original mountain village which has only been moderately developed into a holiday resort. Bars, discotheques and cosy restaurants offer entertainment and amusement. Both in summer and in winter, many events of touristic, sporting and cultural interest take place here: organ recitals, folklore events, Alpine choir, photo competitions, film shows.

Because of its long ski runs which can guarantee snow and their connection with the skiing region of Cervinia, Valtournenche has now become a popular skiing resort. Particularly the good skier will find ideal conditions here with a total of 40 km of downhill runs which can be reached by cable cabin and 4 drag lifts. 2 cross country ski trails. 20 ski instructors for adults and children and for both downhill and cross country skiing.

Valtournenche can offer all sorts of things in summer: tennis courts, sport centre, cable cabin, lovely hikes. An excursion to the waterfall "Gouffres de Brusserailles" at an altitude of 1802 m is well worthwhile.
