100 km south-east of Salzburg to the left and right of the Enn valley stretches the Dachstein-Tauern region with its well-known holiday resorts of Ramsau/Dachstein, Schladming-Rohrmoos, Grobming, Aich/Assach and Haus/Ennstal. The landscape is marked by the surrounding mountains. Lovely excursions (e.g. to the nature park of the Soelk valleys, Dachstein glacier), programme of entertainments, activities.

The Dachstein-Tauern region, the scene of the ladies world cup races every year and the Alpine ski world championship in 1982, is a real paradise for skiers. The downhill skier will find 102 cable cars and lifts available on one ski pass, 10 ski schools with over 200 instructors, ski kindergarten for over 4's. For cross country skiers there is a total of 240 km of tracks available. Ice rink, winter hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides are further attractions.

Several mountain railways take you up to the lovely mountain hiking region with over 90 km of well kept paths, 62 tennis courts are scattered in the various villages, golf (18 holes), riding, heated swimming pool and minigolf in Haus.
